Osamu Jinguji was born in Tokyo in December 1962 — the year of the Cuban Missile Crisis. He carries a paternal lineage of Shinto priests and a maternal lineage of Samurai of the Satsuma domain.
He studied at Tokyo Metropolitan Hibiya High School and then at the Nihon University College of Art, Drama Department, where he performed in multiple theatre companies. In 1984, he appeared in Parco Productions' first Terayama Shuji memorial production "Kaspar," and in 1985 in the film "Blood Storm Rock." He abandoned theatre due to heart disease.
He spent approximately thirty years at a US multinational corporation (Applied Materials — world's top semiconductor equipment manufacturer). In 2009, his photo-poetry collection was published by Gentosha Renaissance. In 2010, he became independent as a freelancer.
From the 2000s, he began mountaineering, summiting Kilimanjaro, Chimborazo, and the highest peak in Papua New Guinea. His photographic works have been sold in New York, Paris, Rome, and London. He is a Photography Contributor for Art+Commerce and VOGUE PhotoVogue (New York).

Five spirit-beings — an Heian-era ritual master, a young man who lived through wartime Showa, an androgynous spirit from over 10,000 years ago, a Shinto priest from before the compilation of the Kojiki, and a traveler who has transmigrated since the age of Sarutahiko — weave their voices across time.
Five spirit-beings from different eras of time, connected by the ancient Japanese concept of kotodama — the belief that words carry a soul. Their voices converge in a hangar at the edge of time, weaving a fragmentary narrative across ten thousand years.
